No it does not work. The extension does not install files in the right folder. According to the instruction on Google groups you need to copy manualy the fileSmile_OpenERPSync.xml form the ../app/code/local/Smile/OpenERPSync/etc/modules to the ../app/etc/modules folder. This should be done automatically in the first place. According to magento standard all files should be in the app/code/community folder because its a third party community extension. Also in OpenERP the Sales menu / Magento Web i cannot set the API settings because those fields are not available

After 20 hours of trying it does not appear to work with 5.0. Avoid it.

Yes, it DOES work. I'm running Magento 1.2.1.2 and OpenERP 5.003. However, in order to have it synchronize properly you need to start with a blank Magento install (no products, categories, attributes). You need to allow the product/category structure in OpenERP to be the master. I also recommend installing chricar_product_image so product images are supported.

Great extention, needs some fine tuning if you want to use it in a more complex setup. Question: Does anyone used this extention with data exchange via ssl?

it DOES work, I succeeded importing orders on a non blank site, but u need SQL truncate the old orders directly in the tables before ; if you use first the old version of openERP extension(.95 on google code) u can assign category numbers to Magento categories , then upgrade to the last version(.99) from bazzaar Launchpad , so if you create a product in OpenERP, it get pushed on Magento , if u order it , import sale orders works !
