View Issue #13474 / Product "New to Date" value incorrect af

Posted: 2009-05-03 17:58:29
Category: Product
Version: 1.3.1
Priority: high
Status: resolved
Reported By: john-michael

How to recreate the issue:

1. Navigate to "Manage Products" from the admin panel.
2. Select more than one product by clicking the product's check box.
3. Choose "Update Attributes" from the actions menu.
4. Click submit.
5. Edit the "Set Product as New to Date" by setting the value to a future date.
6. Select the "Change" option by clicking the check box.
7. Click save.

How to view the issue:

1. Navigate to "Manage Products" from the admin panel.
2. Select the fist product originally selected for the bulk attribute update.
3. Notice the value of the "Set Product as New to Date" is correct.
4. Click back.
5. Select another product originally selected for the bulk attribute update. (not the first product)
6. Notice the value of the "Set Product as New to Date" is not correct.

My results yielded the following results.

The date I used for the recreating was "5/31/09". The value was correctly saved in the "Set Product as New to Date" field of the first product I originally selected for the bulk attribute update. However, the other products selected in the attribute update had the value "11/30/-1" for the "Set Product as New to Date" field.

#4 / Comment by CCondra

I found a way to fix this when importing data from Excel. I noticed that it was exporting the date values year first. So I changed the format of the cells in Excel to YY/MM/DD (Actually, I used the English (South Africa) format) and it worked -- hooray!
