In the UPS shipping method, it is expected that if the product weight exceeds configured Maximum Package Weight, and the "Show method if not applicable" is set to No, the UPS method will not show during the checkout process.

This is not working as UPS shipping method is still available if maximum weight is exceeded and it allows successful checkout.

If I understand correctly, when "show method if not applicable" is set to "No", it means only the methods you selected for use will be shown in UPS method.

If you set "show method if not applicable" to "Yes", it means all the methods will be shown, including the methods you did not select for use in UPS method.

No, "show method" applies to the entire method (in other words shipping carrier). E.g. if UPS doesn't meet some conditions (customer country is not in the allowed list, or some product exceeds maxim package weight) and "show method" is "No" - UPS won't be displayed at all. If "show method" is "Yes" - UPS will be displayed with an error message text.]]> #3 / Comment by Magento Team
