View Issue #8189 / Email templates not localizable nor logo skinnable

Posted: 2008-10-31 07:43:41
Category: Localization and Translations
Version: 1.1.6
Priority: high
Status: closed
Reported By: Morningtime

Concerning email templates, the following problems:

- If you have foreign languages added, and created email templates for them in /app/locale/nl_NL/templates/email etc. These templates are not called when sending out emails. Instead the en_US templates are always called. Of course, this also happens when en_US is completely disables. Email templates are just not called based on logged in user's language selection.

- If you have a custom template skin in /skin/frontend/default/custom, and upload custom email logo to images folder, this does not work. The default/default skin's email logo is always used, not the logo from the currently active custom template. This means you can not skin the email logo based on the template.

Even though the original logo did not exist on my server (and i refreshed every cache possible), it still kept appearing in the emails.

I had to manually modify each and every email template to direct it to another logo source.
