Setup Magento 1.1.6 basic installation with 3 StoreView "englisch", "german", "french".
Setup 2 Taxclasses "7%" and "19%".
Create a product with Taxclass 19% as default. Save.
Edit Product: Change StoreView to "german" setup Taxclass 7% not using default.

Change to Product grid list. Change StoreView to "german". Select all Products. Start Batch "Change Attribute". Setup Taxclass for StoreView "german" for every Product to "19%". Run Batch. Successmessage appears.

Check back to Edit Product "german" StoreView.

Taxclass still reads "7%"!
