Guys,
I used this code from the 3rd post and it works fine in Firefox but not in Internet Explorer; can anyone tell me what I need to do to make it work in I.E. as well?

Here is what I have:

<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0" width="480" height="280" id="tech" align="middle">
<param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
<param name=movie value="http://www.crossmsi.com/images/homepage.swf‘“>
<param name=quality value=high>
<param name="wmode" value="transparent">
<embed src="http://www.crossmsi.com/images/homepage.swf" quality="high" wmode="transparent" width="480" height="250" name="tech" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />

Thanks for the help in advance,
Bob

Replace Leos code with your current flash code and it works for some reason.. Don’t know why. I tried everything and was about to give up but decided to replace Leo27’s code with mine and it worked. Its the second to last post on the first page.

Just in case someone is using the AC_FL_RUNCONTENT script that precedes their embed script, you have to use the proper syntax, including the settings for wmode...like this:

<script type="text/javascript\">
AC_FL_RunContent(’codebase’,’http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0’,
‘width’,’688’,
‘height’,’293’,
‘src’,’SWF FILE’,
‘quality’,’high’,
‘menu’,"wmode",’transparent",’false’,’base’,’.’,
‘pluginspage’,’http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash’,’movie’,’SWF FILE’
); //end AC code
</script>

I’m really struggling with getting this to work in IE. The flash plays fine in Firefox and Chrome but not in IE.

I’ve played around with a lot of the various options in this thread and am using the following code in a .phtml file for my homepage:

<script type="text/javascript" src="js/swfobject.js"></script>

<div id="flashcontent" style="position:static">
        <
strong>You need to upgrade your Flash Player.</strong>
    </
div>
    <
script type="text/javascript">
        var
so = new SWFObject("frameMeGallery.swf""sotester""475""300""#36332c");

so.addParam("allowFullScreen""false");

so.addParam("scale""noscale");

so.addParam("menu""false");

so.addParam("wmode""transparent");

so.write("flashcontent");

</script>

I had a different swf working fine before, but it doesn’t seem to be liking this one in Internet Explorer.

Can anyone point out what I’m doing wrong? It can be seen here - http://www.frameme.co.uk

Thanks,

Mark

Mark, you got it working then? Looks great.

Which code did you use in the end for it to work on IE?

Hi guys

we created a flash flip extension - now you can add flash to product pages and into CMS page much easier. There’s a widget to insert link to the flash object directly when editing content:

This worked for me found, found it after doing a bit of research and trying lots of different recommendations on various forums

<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="yourfolder/yourfile.swf" width="301" height="252" >
<param name="movie" value="yourfolder/yourfile.swf" />
<param name="scale" value="exactfit" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
</object>
