Hi,

I’ve tried to do what mrgad above suggested but I get the following Error:

app/Mage.php was not found

my index.php has:

$mageFilename = ‘app/Mage.php’;

require_once ‘/home/orchid/public_html/’;

and

umask(0);
Mage::run(’gardens’, ‘website’);

Can someone please tell me what’s wrong? I contacted the hosting provider (we have several domains on a shared hosting plan) and they said:

Hello,

Everything under the orchid account is under:

/home/orchid

so the full filesystem path is going to be relative to that. If, in FTP you see
public_html/somedirectory it’ll be:

/home/orchid/public_html/somedirectory

I would like to mention that Magento is installed in the root directory on the server (public_html).

Thank you so much for any help you can give me,

Love,

Allysin kiss

How about if I have two domains on two different IPs. They are placed on different hosting services.
Could I visit one domain and it works as a store which is setup on the other?
What should I do to have that effect? Or just impossible to have it?
Thanks.

I think the confusion is coming from a statement someone made that went something like this:

If you just setup subdirectories (folders) for each additional stores, you’ll be able to access them from other domains.

While partially correct, it’s missing an important note:

You need these to be setup as parked or addon domains, that way certain configuration changes are made the to httpd.conf file that controls what folder that domain belongs to.

The following tutorial should clear things up a bit:
