Hi guys,

Not sure how to word this so…

I have 1 website, 2 stores everything is going really well and I’m almost done with my first Magento set-up only I can’t get the home pages of each to use their respective templates, the second store keeps using the default one.

Site 1:
http://www.wheelsautomotivebooks.com.au

Site 2:
http://www.battlebridgemilitarybooks.com.au

I have made both have their own homepages via cms pages and both are using this code:

{{block type="catalog/product_new" template="catalog/product/new.phtml"}}

Obviously, it’s defaulting to the default new.phtml. Can someone tell me how I can get Battlebridge to use its new.phtml? I have created a military folder for this at:

default/military/template/catalog/product/new.phtml

Hope someone can help and thanks!

1. Go to Admin > System > Configuration > Design > Themes
2. In the top left corner store switcher select your Military store
3. In Themes > Default enter “military”
4. Click Save

Sounds like you edited the “default” theme, this is not best, because next update will overwrite your files.
Create a new folder in app/design/frontend/default/ and skin/frontend/default/ for all of your themes.

Thanks Moshe,

I hear you on the default theme, I will do that.

Now, I have done that… The default theme is military FOR that store. Please see the attachment

Any further help would be appreciated.

Now your military store should use files from app/design/frontend/default/military/ folder

Hey Moshe, thanks.

Ok, I definitely have that set-up and I created a ‘new1.phtml’ in the default/military/template/catalog/product/ directory just to test that is pulling from that directory (and it is as it is displying the correct heading) but it is pulling the new products from the Wheels category list, not the military list despite the fact that I have ‘new’ products marked in Military categories.

As mentioned, my file path in the CMS page is:

{{block type="catalog/product_new" template="catalog/product/new1.phtml"}}

Again, thank you
