Magento

I want to use Magento as a site for a local tire shop who wants to show off their tires etc. , but obviously not sell them online.  Is this possible in Magento? To disable the shopping cart?  If not can anyone recommend a CMS that this works well with?

I found a few more threads with some code fixes, but I’m not sure if i really trust myself to mess around with it, so I think I’ll just wait until it becomes a feature.

Has there been any progress on this feature yet? There seems to be many people who would love to use Magento as a catalogue only.

...er cannot you just turn off the cart in the system options for enabled modules? You can also tweak your product templates to hide the add to cart boxes. Definitely doable when you tweak the templates. Difficulty grade: moderate.
