Winegiants is now open!

Most of my efforts were spent loading and manipulating data, with some changes to the default design.  Any comments are welcome.

For me big problem, no possible to sell bottle by 6, and you ?

I don’t understand your issue. Can you elaborate?

My wine is packaged in a box with 6 bottles.
I dont want sell 4, 5 ou 7 bottles but 6, 12 ou 18 (= 1, 2 or 3 box).
I want to indicate a prix for 1 bottle but sell by 6.
Why ?

Ok, I get it now. It sounds like you need a bundled product, 1 bundle of 6 individual wines. I don’t know how to implement it in Magento.

We sell the wine by the bottle, so I did not encounter this issue. I did have to customize the handling fee since the boxes have different costs.

Thanks! Not sure if you mean a home button or the featured items category.

For the home button check: http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/7535/. The ‘home button hack’ to edit is /template/catalog/navigation/top.phtml

To display the items in a particular category on the home page, you need to:
- add the category (note the category id in the admin menu)
- assign some products
- edit the cms homepage.

Here’s what my home page looks like:

First of all - I REALLY like your logo.  I think it would make your site stronger if you brightened it up a bit like the logo.  Maybe pulled out some of the orange and black instead of so much muted blue.

Overall it’s a pretty good first site.

I think the Cart looks very nice.

header and footer backgrounds don’t seem to flow.

see the blue at the bottom lightened.

It’s a dedicated server (dual opteron with 8GB of memory). I modified .htaccess so it would use more memory (php_value memory_limit 256M).

I also tweaked apache to use deflate (this speeds up the loading of css files, although I did not test it to make sure this was the case) and
changed mysql to use query caching.
