Hi to all,

I’d love to test this new incredible ecommerce platform.
I’ve uploaded all the files with my FTP client. Then i followed all the given instructions.
It appears that my host provider does not use PHP 5.2.0. Do you guys also use OVH and see the same pb ?

So i followed the instructions on magento website to force the server to used php 5.
Anything I do, i still have an internal server error.
=> do you know if there’s any particularities on OVH with .htaccess or cg-bin ?

The folder sructure is :

.forward
CGI-BIN folder
Requetes folder
Sessions folder
WWW folder
- Magento folder

I’ve tried to place the .htaccess n the root folder and on the WWW folder
I’ve tried to place the cgi-bin bin on the root folder and on the WWW folder
=> same result : server error !

The technical support answered with the following URL
http://guide.ovh.net/php5chezovh
Thus, I’ve created an .htaccess on the WWW folder with the following code
SetEnv PHP_VER 5

+> I still have a internal srver error

Can anyone please help me ?
Thanxs a lot

OVH does not use standard Rewrite mod.
You should ask to an OVH admin to have a look at your .htaccess to make it work.

FR: Il faut poser la question ou chercher sur le net pour rendre les rgles de rewriting compatible.

Hello,

I’m on OVH too. After some test I try a solution found in this forum and it works fine. Only problem at now, i can’t choose another language than english. I think it’s a problem with these rewrite rules:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond
%{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond
%{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l

Here is my .htaccess:

SetEnv PHP_VER 5
#php_flag magic_quotes_gpc off
#php_flag short_open_tag on

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond
$!^(index\.php|media|skin|js|robots\.txt)
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /magentoinstallfolder/index.php/$1 [L]

DirectoryIndex index
.php

RewriteEngine on

RewriteCond
%{REQUEST_URI} !^/media/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/skin/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/js/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond
%{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond
%{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-l

RewriteRule
.* index.php

I continue my researches to use it in french too wink

At this time, for OVH and for installation, just replace

RewriteEngine on

with

RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase
/

Un grand merci à Nicmae!
Many many thanks to Nicmae!

J’étais bloqué dans l’installation sur OVH notamment pour activer PHP5 et configurer le htaccess.
Là tout semble OK maintenant.
