can anyone help?

just trying to get rid of this silly line from just below the header.  I’ve been slowly going through editing the header images etc but still this part remains....anyone know which image/code i need to change to get rid of it? (see image)

while on this topic, on the default store layout, where exactly do I find the relevant code to edit the colors on the opposing sides of the footer?

help much appreciated, i’m a novice!!

If you want to make things VERY easy for yourself… get firebug for FireFox and then open it… after you learn how to use it - you can examine your code and easily find the exact relevant file to edit to make things work!
