Magento

Hi,

Within the context of a feasibility study, i wonder if magento products management concept will fit my customer needs. The constraints look like a precendent post:

My customer’s catalog contains about 300 references and each can be configured by 5 attributes:
- the size, about 4 possibilities
- the color, x 30
- the finish / roughness, x 4
- the material, x 2
- the orientation, x 2

Products are manufactured to order, so inventory management is not required (and has no sens).
So if I set up the catalog in a magento fashion, I should have to create one configurable product but about 600.000 simple products !!

I think it’s not a good issue for this kind of need. So, is there a manner to bypass these drawbacks ?

There is this module for this problem http://biz.metrofindings.com/main.page/Made_to_Order_MTO_Magento_Module, but I installed and it doesn’t work. You can try it perhaps you have more luck. If it works tell me the proces you have done please. Thanks

Thanks for your reply, but I’ve found no way to set it up. Lots of posts talk about it, but after reading the installation file, I think it is not compatible with the last release of magento. If someone knows about an alternative, “Pensez à moi” ...
