When I deactivate my categories in the admin console, a space for the category seems to remain in the drop down menu.  It looks like the screenshot below.  Any ideas? - roco

Have you refreshed your template caches?

I refreshed all the caches in System > Cache Mgmt.  I did not see a checkbox for “template cache”, but I refreshed every other one.  I still have a view like the one in the picture after the refresh. :(
