Hi.

It would be great if we could see what the referring url to the site was ... for example if they used a google search, we could see that they came from google, and the address that referred us would include all the strings they searched.
Also, let us have the option to see what is in the users basket if he has one.
And also display the country of the originating IP.
I’m not sure if it has this, because it is still a local test server, but if possible, allow the system to identify bots such as Google Bot, so that we can distinguish between bots and real users.

These features are in the osCommerce shopping enhancement, so it shouldn’t be hard to add.

Regards

Itai

There is a simplier solution use google analytics and you will know how much traffic and from where u are getting… they are also supporting advanced functions such as goals… so u can filter results by condition for example registration of new user… purchase after registration etc.

Google Analytics also has a good built-in products ordered and a section for queries done on the internal search engine. It tracks things like what was purcahsed (product, SKU, price, shipping, etc.) and for the site search, it would track what was searched and a bunch of other things.

Edit: Just confirmed by going through a demo store that GA is setup to track product purchases, but it is not setup to track internal site searches. This should definitely be added though, it can be really useful and isn’t hard to add or even modify the code if you really needed this implemented.

The problem with Google Analytics is that it doesn’t show the exact link where the site came from, but just the site itself ... i.e. instead of showing http://www.forum.com/forum1.html?post=1 ... it just shows www,forum.com

Also, I would like to be able to see what the customer has in their shopping basket both live, and for customers that are offline.
