I’ve tried to install your files and DB on our server but we cannot connect because it seems thet the database login is not correct :

exception ‘Zend_Db_Adapter_Exception’ with message ‘SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user ‘root’@’localhost’ (using password: NO)’ in /var/www/vhosts/ecommerce.e-quasar.com/httpdocs/magento_ocb/lib/Zend/Db/Adapter/Pdo/Abstract.php:131

err you want him to give you the username/password of your own database? that makes no sense.

Not my own database but HIS ONE !!

I installed HIS database

DB user name and password are stored in the database but I don’t know where. So explain me how to change it with mine.
I try to delete var/cache and var/session but I cannot succeed in running install again.

db connection parameters are stored in app/etc/local.xml

I’ve deleted app/etc/local.xml and then Magento automatically ran the installation wizard. Therefore I was able to give my new parameters

Sorry for the delay but I’ve been working on something else recently. I’ve just updated the site URL and the zip file. The site can now be found at http://ocbutcher.igentics.com/ and the zip is http://ocbutcher.igentics.com/magento/code.zip

Sorry that you have to download the whole file but it’s using a slightly old version of Magento AND I’ve tweaked various things to make them work how I want.

Moche, can you host this zip on your servers somewhere??

I’d like to try out this version, but I cannot find the DB to download (code.zip is downloaded). Is it available somewhere?

I’ll update the files soon, we’re just working on a new release for the client so there would be little point updating the files now

I’m interested in implementing the “Shop by Brand” feature. I’d like to organize goods on several categories, and it would be nice to have “nested” views - something like you implemented (?).

Like this (shop by gender): ladieswear - coats - Barber
different view (shop by brand): Barber - ladieswear - coats

or maybe: (shop by function): coats - ladieswear - Barber

I don’t know if this is possible with Magento, or I have to create 3 different categorie tree and assign every product to each tree.
