I think it would be a good idea to be able to add custom fields to these forms ... for example I need to be able to get Company Names and VAT Numbers and Identity Numbers.

I am also interested in how to do this as I need to get information about how the user heard about the store of who the rep who introduced them to the store was for tracking purposes.

me too - absolutely required!

I have just launched a new site, and after 4 days, I am starting to witness bots using “send to a friend”. with their multiple IP addresses, that throttling system is not of any use.
Can anybody suggest an easy to use Captcha plugin?

Or, an alternate system to stop these annoying bots?

All assistance, thoughts or guidance appreciated!

I desperately need this kind of functionality also.

I’m looking through widget/name.phtml right now, hopefully Im on the right track.

Why does the customer registration form have so little fields compared to the billing information one?  Isnt that a little silly?

Ok Ive figured out how to do it, Ill post my code up eventually but I edited the following files to give you an idea:

register.phtml

addresses.phtml
