I. I already installed magento 1 week ago, and had a problem, so i must uninsatll and re install. I created a mysql 5, which works perfectly. I unzip and upload all fies, modify the chmod, then run the ....magento/index.php/install/. I arrive at teh “Welcome to Magento’s Installation Wizard!” page, tick the licence agreement, click on continue and ..... nothing happen ?
Any idea where dies the problem come from ?
Thanks a lot
Didier

Hmm… hard to tell what the cause is.

I suggest you try installing Magento without doing the chmod.

And if that still fails, make sure you set the correct chmod which is (777)

Also, please visit the following site for more detailed instructions on the installation as well as the software/server requirements to run Magento:

http://www.magentocommerce.com/wiki/welcome_to_the_magento_user_s_guide/chapter_2

Let me know if that works out for you.

Hi… my first try at an installation.

I get to the Welcome to Magento’s Installation Wizard! screen, click the tick box and it just returns me to the Welcome to Magento’s Installation Wizard! screen.

CHMOD’ing everything to 777… still keeps boucing me back… you mentioned a fix?
Could you please eloborate on that?

Thanks

Mark

Note: Also when I do not comment out the php_flag line in my htaccess file the installation goes into a Internal Server Error…

Action php5-cgi /cgi-bin/php5-cgi
AddHandler php5-cgi .php
# php_flag cgi.fix_pathinfo 1

Have tried setting the php_flag to on as well, still no joy

If you get help, it’s really helpful to post how they helped you resolve it so the rest of us don’t have to ask the same questions over and over =)
