Hi everyone

I’m having a lot of problems installing Magento on my Servage hosting.

I’m trying to install on http://store.(domain).co.uk and have unzipped and changed all the permissions required to 777.

Once I got past putting all the MySQL details in, and it tried to create the database, it started coming up with a load of errors.

I ended up deleting the database, and am about to start from scratch. I’ll post the error messages I receive once I’ve started over; but does anyone have any vague ideas as to what might be wrong?

If you could provide the exact errors that you are receiving during install the community will be able to better assist you.

Typically, installation errors have to do with missing software requirements.  You may want to double check with your host that your hosting environment supports the necessary requirements.

I managed to get it installed and it was all working fine; I then got rid of it and reinstalled after buying a dedicated SSL certificate from Servage. I can see the unencrypted pages no problem, but whenever I want to go to a secure page Firefox comes up with ‘page cannot be displayed’ after a few seconds; and it’s the same with IE.

Now totally confused!
