Magento

Hi have changed the sidebar cart to hide and show on click using Control.Modal. I would like to have the modal open every time an item gets added. In the admin backend, I have disabled the option to redirect to cart when product is added.
Where/how would I need to include the option to open url “#shop_cart” which when called opens the modal?
