@PremiumProductions: could you try setting Magento folder to permission 755 and index.php to 644 ?

I have Magento installed in the root.
The index.php is set to 644
Should i set all other files and directories to 755?
Thanks for your help smile

At this point it would be really helpful to see apache error logs for details smile

I have asked my host for some assistance, and their reply was:-
_________________________________________________________
PPc> You can change apache handlers via .htaccess to allow other
PPc> extensions to work as PHP script

“Extensions” means .html or .html or .php4 and so on.

PPc> When i sought advise from the magento forums their advise was to
PPc> install it as if it where on PHP4 and upload their php5 file as it
PPc> contains the other extensions. (see the list at the bottom of this e-mail)

PHP5 is the only version on this server, so you dont need to
install(how?) PHP5 as CGI. It is just impossible.

Now i am more confused than ever. :(

Im having the same problem.  The server my site is hosted on is running 5.2.4.  It doesn’t have the PDO_MySQL extention it has pdo_sqlite installed.

Since I’m getting that PDO_MySQL error I’m guessing that those are not the same.  I tried the .htaccess work arounds mentioned in this thread, but not working.  My host has already told me they will not install pdo_mysql since pdo_sqlite is installed.

Any other options besides finding another host?
