when I make a payment with paypal standard it all goes through normally and the order is logged but when I come back to the site from paypal to the success page i get “500 internal server error”

my URL is currently on IP would this be affecting it? it seems like an htaccess error but this is the only page I get it on.

my url is like:

http://XX.XXX.XX.XX/mydomain.com/paypal/standard/success/?variables

anyone got an idea or seen a thread covering this cos I can’t find it anywhere?

I looked into this further today and changed the site to a domain name instead of Ip just to make sure, everything works fin apart from there is still this error on the success page, I checked the error log on the server and it says:

I assume from the lack of reply I might be alone on this one but would appreciate a second look from someone in the know…
