This is on Magento 1.4.0.0

This was a pear upgrade from 1.3.2.4 to 1.4.0.0. As I see it, lots of people have this issue.

I tried reindexing, didn’t work. I tried creating NEW products, didn’t work either.

Does anyone know what to do to fix this?

I’ve seen right now that

if I set under admin product page INVENTORY -> MANAGE STOCK -> NO -> Item is listed under its category

if I set MANAGE STOCK -> YES -> NUMBER OF ITEMS 0 -> OUT OF STOCK -> items is NOT listed (and I have “There are no products matching the selection")

if I set MANGE STOCK -> YES -> NUMBER OF ITEMS 100 -> IN STOCK -> items is listed!

This means that Magento doesn’t list the out of stock items

I’m running 1.4.0.1 on a test server

There’s a new function on the admin side. To show or hide items which is not on stock. The default is hide. Switch it to show and products will appear. You need to reindex after the change.

On 1.4.0.1 re-indexing fixed this issue for me.

Hello!,

I tried to reindex, create products, change product stocks, reindex few more times xD, but i dont have any result, categories continue not showing the products, if i try to print $_productCollection->count(), te result is 0, i think is something generating the _productcollection but i cant fid the solution, lot of people resolve it with the reindex tool, but some more have same problem like me.

I uninstalled a plugin that hide the out of stock products and still dont show the products in category.

If somebody knows something else about it please help.

Hi I had a similar issue. Re-indexing was all that was needed.

Can you tell me where that’s at?

Thanks, Cheers M.

In the Admin Panel select:  System > Configuration

on the left you will see Catalog and under that Inventory, click on that...Stock Options and Product Stock Options

I’ve tried this and re-indexing, no luck with the latest build of magento.  boooooooobeez
even worse is some of my categories show products just fine while others do the dreaded no products matching selection along with not being searchable....i also can see them in the backend.

Has there been any update on this as I now have the same error.

Can I also add that even when adding a new product, the category will still say no matching products.

Andy.

Fortunately for me, the solution was easy. I simply had to change the ‘Manage Stock” option to “no” and all products show. no more problem =0)
