Hi,

I installed Parallels 5 to test my site in IE on OSX whilst using MAMP.

However, I can’t access http://127.0.0.1:8888/magento/index.php/ or http://localhost:8888/magento/index.php/

I CAN access the site through http://10.211.55.2:8888/magento/index.php/ but the CSS does not show, - this is because in the source all the links point to http://127.0.0.1:8888/magento…

10.211.55.2 is the IP that Parallels gives in system preferences.

I’ve tried a number of things, installing Bonjour for Windows, installing IIS on Windows, viewing the ‘hosts’ file to make sure it has 127.0.0.1 localhost but nothing is working.

Does anyone have any good ideas?

Cheers

F

Solved:

Solved (in a sense) by changing the Base Url from http://127.0.0.1:8888/magento/ http://10.211.55.2:8888/magento/

in Configuration > Web > Unsecure > Base URL

Would anyone be able to tell me the implications of having a different Base Url?

i.e. Can I leave it at 10.211.55.2 or should i just switch it over for testing?

Thanks

p.s. 10.211.55.2 is the Parallels 5 shared hosting IP
