Is there a way to force an extension to overwrite files?

I’m developing an extension that needs to modify an email template (specifically: template/email/order/shipment/track.phtml).

But right now if you try to install the extension you get:

ERRORconnect.magentocommerce.com/community/TrackThePackCommercialconflicting files foundfrontend/default/default/template/email/order/shipment/track.phtml (connect.magentocommerce.com/core/interface_frontend_default)

How can I work around that or force it to ovewrite?

Hi,

Go to your magento root > downloader > lib > Mage > Connect > Validator.php

Find the below code.
if (file_exists($dest)) {
$this->addError(“‘{$file}’ already exists");
return false;
}

Comment the above code.
/*if (file_exists($dest)) {
$this->addError(“‘{$file}’ already exists");
return false;
}
*/

Save file and install package, Your package will be installed.

Hope this will helpful to you.

Cheers, smile
Dharmesh Thanki.
