I have a broken SSL lock on my secured pages even when all the images are secured.  It only happens the first time you click through to the secured pages via a non secured pages.  When you hit refresh the broken lock goes away goes away.

Have look at this http://www.projectm.com.au, then click the Login button at the top and notice the Broken lock in Firefox.

Anyone have any idea?

Thanks, Gary

EDIT:  If you want to reproduce the error, just click on our logo to get linked back to the homepage and then click the login button again.

Live HTTP-Headers tells me that the image http://www.projectm.com.au/images/rotator-index-08.png is not loaded via https.

It seems that this image is not always loaded - maybe some random image loader? Most of the time the lock works fine for me so I could not really debug this.

Good luck

Claudia

BTW: The page does not work on Safari 4 on Windows.

Thanks for the reply Claudia, however I think you may have missed an important point.  The Broken SSL is only on the login pages when you click through the login button on the top of the navigation…

The login page is exactly the one I tracked with livehttpheaders. Unfortunately after a bit more testing my findings are very inconclusive:

- Sometimes there are non-https requests _after_ the request to the https login page is made. At the first glance it looks like some of the flash animations request pictures and these requests are not canceled even though a new page was requested.
- A few times I got the broken lock even though according to livehttpheaders all requests were made via https.
- I got the broken lock when running firefox in safe mode - so apparently add-ons are not responsible.
- I never got the error with javascript disabled.
- I never got the error with the net-panel of firebug enabled.
- I never got the error in any other browsers (opera, safari, ie8).

So basically I don’t have any idea how to pinpoint the cause of the broken lock, sorry.

Good luck

Claudia

Fixed it, it was an extension that was causing problems… I just removed it…
