Hi,

Why are my URL’s showing with the /index.php/ in them?

e.g. For my cart it’s http://www.mydomain.com/index.php/checkout/cart/ when it should show as http://www.mydomain.com/checkout/cart/

Thanks!

P.S. I’m on 1&1;shared hosting if that helps.

It’s the Apache URL Rewrite -> you have to enable it in order for that to not show up.  I would recommend searching this forum first as you can mess up your site if you don’t enable it correctly.

gadgetplay, did you ever figure out how to get rid of the index.php in your URLs on 1and1 hosting?  I’ve tried a few options that I’ve read about in the message boards and none seem to work.

Hi, all
Magento is really not ideal from the point of view of SEO. Very many obvious functions are implemented not quite right. As a variant, you can try the ready extensions. For example, I use this one http://mirasvit.com/magento-extensions/advanced-seo-suite.html and very satisfied with results. There are a lot of similar extensions .
