Multi Store SSL Issue - Video Of Issue

I’m trying to do Multi Store with one main site as the checkout as ssl.

Example -

Setcardgames.com is the main domain.  Quiddler.us is the add on domain.  When you checkout through quiddler.us, it sends you over to https://www.setcardgames.com for the checkout.  Now what it is doing is it’s sending you back to the cart page once you click on checkout as a guest or login.  And if you try clicking the proceed to checkout button again, it doesn’t have anything in the cart anymore.  The Session ID (SID’s) are there, but the contents of the cart isn’t being carried over…

Video example -

I’ve had my web host help me out while trying all sorts of things to fix this.  I’ve done the Add On Domain method and the Parked Domain method.

I’m dying to figure this out as we want to deploy many websites under one domain with SSL.  SO that way we don’t have to pay for a bunch of SSL certs.

THANKS!

Waiting also 4 the solution because i want to have the same as you.
But I think you must have one certificate per shop :(
So 4 shops mean 4 certificates…

Yeah, I’ve been looking into it.  I’m thinking it may have to do with the actual shopping cart…

But yeah, for me 100 stores = 100 certs… Which I cannot do.

You need to maintain the sessions between sites.

You need to maintain the sessions between sites.

As I explained and the video shows, the session is being transferred over no problem… Unless you mean something else?

Are you sure that is the same session?  What is with the http://www.setcardgames.com/quiddler/ as the base url?

(The live sites are different right now fyi)

That is the directory that quiddler.us is located in as an add on domain.

Are you storing the sessions in the database or files?

I have get answer from my host. Per domain name you need a certificate. For example: domain.com
If you have your store like store1.domain.com and store2.domain.com or domain.com/store1 and domain.com/store2 you can use the same certificate.
If you have domain1.com and domain2.com you need 2 certificates :(

I already knew that.  It IS possible to do it the other way though without 2 certificates.  Otherwise magento would be considered shit to me and a lot of other people who use it who have many stores and actually make money from them.
