SQL script check to change class_tax_id

So I need to change a column in my database so that the tax flag, which is currently set to “0” (no tax) is set to “2” (taxable goods). My SQL knowledge is about equal to my b-ball skills, which is also “0”

UPDATE mgn_catalog_product_flat_1
SET tax_class_id = ‘2’
WHERE tax_class_id = ‘0’

This should modify tax_class_id (in table mgn_catalog_product_flat_1) and change the tax id from 0 to 2...but I figured I’d ask the experts.

The main reason to run the script is to avoid activating the tax class on all of the products we have currently listed as no-tax.

Thanks!

I just needed to do this myself, after I screwed up an import.

Here is the SQL code I used,

UPDATE catalog_product_entity_int SET value=’2’ WHERE attribute_id=’81’

81 is of course the ID for the tax_class and the value ‘2’ is for “taxable goods”
