is it possible to have a Discount code/coupon to be use by a customer before checkout?

What I mean is, at the first browse of the customer in a website, there will be an input box for the discount code/coupon. After the customer use his/her coupon it will automatically change all the prices of the products on the website. For example, this user has a discount code/coupon of 5% on all products or even in a limited/chosen products. it will automatically change the prices. I see a lot of this discount code implements only during checkout.

Jonjon, this functionality is not available out of the box at this time in Magento, but like many other features can be developed and added by a Magento professional to your local store.
