Anyone know if Magento will allow you to have 2 web server each hosting a domain and a single db server with a single admin backend?

Easier would be to have two dedicated servers. One will host the PHP installation of Magento, and apache, with the virtual hosts regulating both domains. The spare server can then be solely used for MySQL, totally optimized to just be a dedicated database server. That way, you get fastly superior performance. You can of course still have separate IP addresses for each domain if required.

Hello,

Yes its possible its called clustering technique to have apache running on one server and mysql on another.

This helps to balance your server load and increases site speed and performance.

we have done it for our clients smile .
