I just updated my magento version 1 to version 1.19700 and now every time I add a product to the cart it takes a long time to load. This wasn’t a problem in the previous version. Also, when adding products to the cart I sometimes get an error saying the quantity is not available. Is anyone else having a similar problem. I’m very concerned about the long load times primarily.
Hosting is through godaddy, but I’ve also been testing magento on media temple. In both cases load times are very long.
Same issue with speed. It takes about 30-45 secs to add products to the cart. This is a huge issue since and I am seriously contemplating a different shopping cart OS, dare I say even Zen Cart. I love the backend features of Magento, but if people can’t buy from the store efficiently then what is the point of having all of the backend features that Magento offers.
I was afraid you’d say that. My main problem is that I run a Mac OS, and therefore cannot use the either Terminal or Putty to disable the godaddy control panel. I tried using Macs Terminal utility but I was unable to connect to the server host. Any other suggestions for freeing up ram using Macs Terminal utility?
