Hi all,

I’m tearing my hair out with this one and can’t figure out whats wrong.

My products are not showing up when you are viewing by category. They show up fine when going directly to the product url and they’re all visible and the right settings in the admin side of things.

This was workling fine up until a couple of days ago and I can’t figure out whats changed since then, I did install Yoasts Metarobots module and had to edit the product view phtml file but i haven’t changed anything to do with the category view.

Have hit a bit of a dead end trying to figure this out on my own and thought I’d ask if anyone here can help me??? I’ll pay if needs be!!

Any suggestions welcome,

TIA.

Check that stock settings are not hiding products in the product listings (you may need to turn stock management off, for example, if you don’t want to manually insert stock numbers).

Also check that indexes do not need rebuilding (System > Index Management).

I had the same problem and it got solved after reindex.
Let me know if that works…

I have the same issue after adding configurable products then removing them. Products work from the direct URL, but do not show in the category or the search. Categories show fine, but no products. This happens with all products including new ones.

I have checked all stock levels, the product is active, product has been added to the default website (I have an unused extra store that I added while testing), products are in the right categories. I have checked all the config settings I can think of, but still no products showing.

I have looked a some of the database tables and I did find and deleted products still linked to categories.  I removed all products and links using SQL script found in these forums to clean all traces of these old products.

Cache was cleared then turned off. All indexes have been updated.

I think something went wrong when deleting configurable products or updating the indexes..

Is there any suggestions finding whats wrong and correcting it?  I guess the answer will be somewhere in the database.

Thank you for the responce Bijal, I was able to fix this in the meantime, but its good to have this information on here for others to find.

Step 1 was enough to fix my issue. It seems to be caused by a backup/restore using phpmyadmin. For whatever reason it does not allow these id fields have the value of 0.

There are four tables in the database that will be incorrect following an import through phpmyadmin.....

core_store
core_website
core_store_group
customer_group

When these are imported/restored using phpmyadmin, the records; which have an ID of 0 have their ID incorrectly set to another value.
You need to set the ID correctly to 0. It is normally the record with the highest ID that you need to set to 0.

PM me if you need help.

What a star! I’ve been re-indexing and tweaking Inventory settings all day following this post http://masteringmagento.com/2010/04/8-and-a-half-reasons-your-magento-products-dont-show-up-in-the-catalog/ which is well worth a read.
I’d worked out the store, website and store group settings, but had missed the customer group. Set it to 0 and bang! there were all the products, thanks so much guys.

Step2:

Reindexing catalog from admin panel
But here there is problem of reindexing catalog search table and prices
So to solve this issue

truncate catalogsearch_fulltext;

Step 2 worked like a charm!

Thank you very much, you saved my day!

We uploaded about 2000 products. Before all Products were displaying. now no products are displaying if we click on categories section.

But products are dislaying in home page, search box, using url, but not displaying under categories.

I am struggling for this.

Can anyone give me the solution.

Thanks in Advance.
