Magento

I know many of us are experience speed issues especially with the add to cart functions, yet i have checking out other sites that are using magento, including the demo magento, and those sites tend to be alot faster (meaning 3 to 4 seconds) as opposed to 18-20.

Is it the hardware? ( I am on a dedicated server, and ran all sort of tests, mysql adjustments etc. and even the lates update)

Is it the software? ( If so, then why others seems ok, and others slow)

Does anyone know of any real fixes, to this issue, until it gets resolved by magento. I have searched the forums and tried all sorts of suggestions, yet no luck.

So far the only reply that I’ve gotten is an affirmation of how slow the add to cart is. If anyone replies with a fix I will update it on this thread.

The actual host seems to be affecting the speed difference more than anything else.
