Hi, I successfully installed the extension, but how do I apply this look to the site?

In Admin backend: System --> Configuration.  Then click “Design”.  Then type “modern” for the default theme.

then go to CMS - manage pages - Home page - inside CONTENT enter - {{block type="core/template" template="sample/home.phtml"}}

then - custom design all pages to the modern theme

then - for the home page make it a 1 column

I was following the steps for the installation, but now I can’t see any more content. Only the header. The source code stops here:

any idea what happened?

during the installation of the theme some messages came up, maybe they are important:

Hmm,,, did you replace ---- Current package name = defalut ---- to ---- Current package name = modern ?

Because you have to leave that to say default.

Under the themes tab you will see default - place the word modern there.

Hope that solves it

i see blank page no output while doing so ...?please help..

Is there no way to do this other than having to modify 18 different pages with php code that i have no idea what it does and that after doing it i ofcourse screwed up somewhere and now i get blank pages.

is there nothing like a : Site Wide Template: default (click dropdown box) Modern, Hit apply and done frontpage now displays modern kinda thing?

having to change code on every site page in order to display a new theme seemes way against what magento is supposed to be aimed at. :/

which 18 pages are you talking about?

The home page comes with the sample data as far as i know, so it’s just a courtesy sample html made for “default” theme.
