Disable SSL AFTER Installation

So, originally I installed the store without SSL but then moved it and when I moved it I installed it with SSL.  As it turns out, there are some things I now need to test withOUT SSL on as my host can’t seem to figure out how to install my certificate.

Is there a way to disable it after the install?

I will, of course, need to enable it again later when the SSL is installed correctly on my server.

delete from `core_config_datawhere `pathlike 'web/secure/use_in_*';
Refresh cache if necessary.

Oh, right, that makes sense. smile

Well, I think that disabled the SSL though it didn’t solve my errors that I thought were due to SSL.

Any links that are supposed to go to secure pages (Login, Wishlish, Account, and Checkout) go nowhere and I’m getting Upload HTTP Error when trying to upload photos for products now.  Strange because both issues were nonissues before the SSL.

I’ll just have to keep digging.

This will set the same Base URL for secure links as it it for unsecure.

select @baseurl:=`valuewhere `scope_id`=and `path`='web/unsecure/base_url';
update `core_config_dataset `value`=@baseurl where `scope_id`=and `path`='web/secure/base_url';

You could also manually update them in database, look for records where path=’web/secure/base_url’

Hmmm ... that gave me this:

Error
SQL query:

SELECT @baseurl := `value`
WHERE `scope_id` =0
AND `path` = ‘web/unsecure/base_url’;

MySQL said:

#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘where `scope_id`=0 and `path`=’web/unsecure/base_url’’ at line 1

Typo. He meant:

select @baseurl:=`valuefrom `core_config_datawhere `scope_id`=and `path`='web/unsecure/base_url';
update `core_config_dataset `value`=@baseurl where `scope_id`=and `path`='web/secure/base_url';

Thank you Moshe & Frank!!!

That fixed half my problem (I can now access any login pages on the frontend), unfortunately I’m still getting the Upload HTTP Error message with the images though.  This is strange, that didn’t happen before and nothing I’ve read here that other people used to fix it has worked either.  I even tried deleting the local.xml file and running the install again.

@sherrie: sorry for the typo..

Could you make sure in admin that none of the Base URLs have https?

@Moshe:  No problem.  It happens to the best of us. smile

I’m not seeing any https in the admin, in fact there was no https in the admin before, either - I had only enabled it for the frontend before.

I meant to check in the configuration screen for entries with https (System > Configuration > Web > Secure)

My bad.  The Secure Base URL is set to http://minervapromotions.com/agd/

I’m attaching an image of it ... it is Upload HTTP Error

This is what happens:

1. I select Browse Files…
2. I select the image
3. It counts up and says 100% and then turns red and displays the error
