My first ever online shop has now been up for about 2 weeks.

http://www.onestopalternatives.co.uk/shop

Or go to http://www.onestopalternatives.co.uk/ then click on online shop link.

Uses PayPal standard payment module only, a template monster dot com template and the TYPOlight CMS for the main site (http://www.onestopalternatives.co.uk/).

I’ve just completed my first Magento site for a client, www.babygoshop.co.uk.

The front end is pretty heavily modified and includes other custom mods such as embedded videos on some of the product pages.

There are still some tweaks to be made (as always!) but overall it’s turned out well.

Cheers
Chris

Hello all

We have now gone live at www.thewoolcompany.co.uk and, although we’ve got lots left to do I don’t think it’s too ugly but I would really appreciate some feedback.

We are trying to get across how our wool blankets, throws and wool duvets are soft and luxurious. especially the soft feel of the fibre - not too easy online.
I would also be interested in any feedback about we are displaying The WashSafe. It’s a totally new product so most people need to be educated about what is is and how it works. As far as we know there is nothing like it anywhere around the world yet so we are trying to get across the concept more than anything (we believe that once people understand it - and trust it - there will be a flood of demand)

Also: How easy is it to navigate, is there any information missing?… etc
All comments welcome!

Thanks In anticipation…
Harry

We just opened a new safety products store in the UK called Simplified Safety

http://simplifiedsafety.co.uk/

It’s built on magento and integrated with expression engine.

The only thing we’re still wrestling with is the UPS module.  If anyone has any experience with that, please contact me.

cwpollock,

Thats a very nice site indeed. Very clean.

For your blog, what did you use and how did you integrate it with your site?

My site http://www.octanesport.com has been running well for the last couple of months.  I did a fair bit of work myself but I also used cubewebsites to chage certain design areas and css bits and bobs I needed changing, it was good to work with cube as they were able to do changes that saved me a ton of time. I am competent with photoshop so I choose to add products onto a generic background, rather than the usual cutouts to white you see on so many sites.

Features I added were the opening page slide show, which is easy to update, and the royal mail extension.

Thisngs Im really proud of are the checkout doesnt default to ‘deliver to different address’ and also I like the way the emails generaed are sent in my house style.

I also added the extension that allows me to print a packing list with thumbnails that really helps picking and looks good for customers.

Id like an easy address label printing function…

My sales have increased and customers seem really happy with the whole process. It puts a few bigger stores to shame.

I did have a small problem with some customers on IE6 not being able to check out, but searching the Magento forums gave me all the answers I needed.
