Manually excluding a category from the header menu, and listing subcategories elsewhere from only one category

flufftronix Total Posts: 29 Joined: 2007-11-09 Ignore user	So I have this “brands” category which includes 110 subcategories, and would be a mess if called from getStoreCategories in top.phtml. However I don’t think I can just deactivate the category as I need to also list its subcategories (ie, a list of brands) on a sidebar. I’ve seen the posts on here about doing vertical navigation, which I guess I’m planning to implement.. but what I’m really after is all horizontal naviation except for on vertical. As I’m much more a designer than a programmer—and without an API to reference—I’m fresh out of ideas. Help?
