Magento

Hi, I am new to Magento theme/design development and have a question about adding a static background image…

Would ‘background-attachment:fixed;’ work for this task (Using the default theme).  Just from doing some digging around in the default theme it doesnt appear that I am going to be able to use this because of the way the static blocks are implemented I am not too familar with how Magento’s HTML layout is structured, although I have done some reading on it over the past few days and I am rather confused.  I am an experienced HTML/CSS author but again, I am new to Magento so please forgive me if my question sounds invalid.

Any help or suggestions to get me pointed in the right direction would be much appreciated!
