Saving Forums’ Threads… possible?

It would be very nice if a way could be implemented
of saving interesting/important threads for ready-reference later on.

Say, I like a useful hack or a specific solution given in a thread and want to save it for later
(without going through 1,000s search attempts in the future),
like, for ex., this one:  http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/21/
or this other one:  http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/209/

Perhaps, by putting an extra push-button in the thread
(kind of *SAVE THIS THREAD TO MY CODE LIBRARY*),
which will save the reference of that specific thread inside one’s account or…
in whichever other way: you coders out there know better wink

Like this everybody will be able to build a small library of refs for oneself,
very useful when re-installing or for helping others, etc.

POSSIBLE question

That’s already possible, minus some features you mentioned. You can “subscribe” to a thread by clicking on “Subscribe to this thread” in the upper right hand corner, just underneath the “New Topic” button. This will save the thread in your account control panel under “View Subscriptions” in the sidebar.

You will get email notices when new replies to the topic are posted, but nevertheless…

We have this planned (a cleaner version than the default EE implementation)

Thank you, both, for your replies.
I know about thread subscriptions, but I am asking for a better facility, with a wider scope.
I guess we’ll have to wait for the ’cleaner‘ version, then.

As a further request:
the saving of the thread could be done under its URL and name,
but also, possibly, with an extra text-field to give it a more personalized title, as per one’s personal needs,
because sometimes (or often?) threads titles are kind of… fantasy-based ohh and
do not reflect well its contents or what we individually may find interesting.

Another point (last, I promise!):
sometimes some special threads risks to become really lo0O0ong and
to save the whole thread will defeat the purpose of easily finding a specific point,
thus it could be helpful to be able to save just specific replies or code snippets, etc.

This will also encourage a wider participation in the forum, I guess,
since, among the many other advantages, it will become much easier to help newbies
by fast referring them to previous cases, etc

Thank you once again, dear MAGentlemen and MAGentleladies grin
