Table rates shipping method

Hello,

my problem has to do with table rates as a shipping method.
I created my .csv file and i upload it.

it seems that is not working at all when i use it with paypal express checkout.

(when you login inside paypal to pay it says that there is no shipping method and payment cannot be completed
the exact message is Shipping Method
Sorry, no quotes are available for this order at this time.)

my .csv file looks like this

Country Region/State Zip/Postal Code Order Subtotal (and above) Shipping Price
GRC ATTIKI * 0 2
GRC * * 0 12
GRC * * 300 0
* * * 0 30

i don’t want to use Flat Rate and Free Shipping methods. I just want to have only Table rates.

(note:  i am not using proceed to checkout method, i use only the paypal logo to proceed to paypal site)

magento version 1.3.2.3

does anybody has any idea?

thank you

Hello manosmanos,

seeing your .csv files there are two things that are different to the ones I use, maybe they can help you, maybe they dont matter grin

- The Column titles are different, I use Country, County/State, Postcode/Zip, Order Subtotal (and above), Delivery Price

- Start your table rates from the most “general” and go to the most “specific”. That means, put the * * * 0 30 at the top and the GRC ATTIKI * 0 2 at the end

Does your problem only exist with the express checkout? What happens if you do a regular onepage checkout? If the tablerates work well there, I wouldnt look at the tablerates but rather at the PayPal express checkout for the problem.

Hope it helps!

For countries names you must use the three digit country codes (ISO 3166-1 alpha-3). You may find them -among others- at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1_alpha-3#Current_codes.

For the regions instead of trying the region’s cells, try to place at postal codes cells the numbers 10 and 11 in two different cells (that are the first two digits for Attica postal codes) and ask your customers to use the first two digits of their postal codes in order to obtain the respected charges.

this happened to me too when I upgraded to 1.4.1.1 it was working in 1.3 for table rate

the reason it happens is because when the person press Express Checkout Button on your cart page they have not selected a country yet so Magento cannot send the shipping rate for that country to paypal, this is why from One Page checkout it works as the cusomter has selected a country already.

thus I read there is a way to send the shipping options to paypal so when the user selects the country paypal knows. I’m trying to work out how magento 1.3 did it so I can fix 1.4, I will post what I find

ok i discovered in the Admin there is an option to \’Transfer Shipping Options\’ however enabling this to yes I get another problem when clicking the express checkout button

\"PayPal gateway has rejected request. Callback URL is wrong type; you must use the HTTPS\”

one problem to the next! I don\’t use https and in version 1.3 it was needed as my customers used express checkout all the time, how come https is required in magento 1.4? that doesn’t make sense it looks like a magento issue instead because it was working all the time in 1.3 until I upgraded to 1.3 obviously paypal do accept http

so now I gotta install https? dammit!

I found a free extension in Magento Connect that seems to have fixed the problem…

Had the same problem, nothing happened when uploading
make sure the words in the first row in the csv file is between “quotes” Editing in Excel will mess things up. Just use textedit or some simple editor.

The quotes made the difference for me.
Like this:

“Country”,"Region/State","Zip/Postal Code","Order Subtotal (and above)"," Shipping Price”
*,*,*,0,10

Hey,
The rates wok perfect. The quotes work as they should work.
But when I click on the paypal express button, It doesn’t redirect me to the paypal website, but it refreshes the page and leaves me with nothing. any solution for this?

Kind regards.
