Although it is not really a problem, you can change this easily by altering the code in design/frontend/default/default/template/customer/form/mini.login.phtml

I will leave you to work out what needs to be changed - let me know if you can’t work it out (simple html)

Cheers
Adam

This can be a problem if you are in an internet cafè or you have a person on your back… or not?

I’m working on this file now, and I’m searching the difference with login.phtml

how did you add the mini form to the right sidebar? did you use xml to update the layout or added code to right sidebar itself?

I added

app/design/frontend/default/default/layout/page.xml inside the right block

this code
<block type="customer/form_login" name="mini_login" template="customer/form/mini.login.phtml" />

and after in 3colmuns.phtml this code

{{block type="customer/form_login" name="mini_login" template="customer/form/mini.login.phtml"}}

is that right?
thanks for your help

Ok, here is the much better / easier way to do it.
First of all undo your changes in 3colmuns.phtml and app/design/frontend/default/default/layout/page.xml

Now open app/design/frontend/default/default/layout/customer.xml and change:

<customer_logged_out>
        <
reference name="top.links">
            <
action method="addLink" translate="label title" module="customer"><label>Log In</label><url helper="customer/getLoginUrl"/><title>Log In</title><prepare/><urlParams/><position>100</position></action>
        </
reference>
        <
remove name="wishlist_sidebar"></remove>
        <
remove name="reorder"></remove>
    </
customer_logged_out>

to:

<customer_logged_out>
        <
reference name="top.links">
            <
action method="addLink" translate="label title" module="customer"><label>Log In</label><url helper="customer/getLoginUrl"/><title>Log In</title><prepare/><urlParams/><position>100</position></action>
        </
reference>
        <
remove name="wishlist_sidebar"></remove>
        <
remove name="reorder"></remove>
        <
reference name="right">
            <
block type="customer/form_login" name="mini_login" template="customer/form/mini.login.phtml" />
        </
reference>
    </
customer_logged_out>

Too easy aye smile
Cheers Adam

No problem. I am busy writing a payment extension and a shipping extension at the moment. I hope to have my site up and running soon. Have you signed up? If you have you will get an email when I launch it.

Cheers

another way to hide password:

in mini.login.phtml change this
“ <tr><td><input name="login[password]"></td></tr> “

to this:
“<tr><td><input type="password" name="login[password]"></td></tr>"
