Hi there,
I am trying to release magento 1.0 on a hosting that has allegedly the needed settings that you can view below (info.php).
My memory limit is set on 64 M. So evereything went alright, but now, after I have created ca. 20 categories with 50 subcategories, I get this message: “Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted”. So I waited a few hours and then tried again, but unfortunately nothing changed. Switching off a cleaning cache does not help. Please could you give me an advise where is the problem a how can I solve this? The settings php.ini via htaccess is not supported by my hosting.
Thank you very much in advance for your help!

I have got similiar problem. I don’t know what to do :(
There you have details:

After I reach 147 categories ( including root categories / subcategories ) I can’t add more through admin panel.

I tried to delete a few of them and started adding again quite new list, but I came across the same problem.

After I have 147 categories ready and I am trying to click on “Add new” the page stops loading in:

(...)
<
body id="html-body">
<
div class="wrapper">
<
div class="header">
<
div class="header-top">
<
a href="http://mypage.com/index.php/admin/"><img src="http://www.mypage.com/skin/adminhtml/default/default/images/logo.gif" alt="Magento Logo" class="logo"/></a>
<
div class="header-right">
<
class="super">
Logged in as Janusz<span class="separator">|</span>

After it stops there normally should be:

(...)21 April 2008<span class="separator">|</span>(...)

but it is not. The code is finished just after “Logged in as NICK”.

I tried different browsers and clear/off/on cache.

Thanks for your help

I have found the error log of the server. There is the problem:
“ Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted “

Any ideas what to do to with this?

I know you can change memory limit in php.ini file, but is there any better solution? smile

Regards,
Janusz
