I am working on a site that has a very unique home page. The only template layouts are the few different 2 or 3 column layouts plus a couple 1 column layouts. I am currently using all the available layouts (except 3 column) for other parts of the website and I still need one more for the home page. I supposed I could use the 3 column layout and use it for my home page which isn’t close to being a 3 column layout, but technically that would be a “kludge”. So I would recommend making it easier to add new page layouts or add another one specifically for the home page.
