I have a few types of products for which I need different shipping options for. For example, shipping is free for any order of Products A, B, and C over $50. For orders below $50, I would charge either a percentage or a flat fee (whichever is easier in Magento). All my other products’ shipping charges will be calculated using their weights and UPS/USPS shipping apis.

How would I go about doing this? I need all these products in one store though.

Just setup two shipping methods:
Free Shipping
Table Rate Shipping

Set a minimum amount for the free shipping and the table rate shipping will handle the rest.

If you have different shipping rules for different products or categories then you may need to use the shopping cart rules. Theoretically they should be flexible enough to cover this sort of situation but you’d need to play around with them a bit.

I thought of table shipping but then again it isn’t as accurate as using the UPS/USPS apis.

I’ve also tried using the shopping cart rules. It worked once but I’ve been unable to duplicate the success a second time around. Am I doing something wrong here?

I am needing this answered as well.  I’m wanting to do an Amazon style “Super Saver Shipping” where some products qualify for free shipping (over a certain dollar total), but other (very heavy) products disqualify the order for free shipping.  Please advise!

Any help here?
