Hi @napromollo here is the method using FTP that I would use to upgrade from 184.108.40.206 to 220.127.116.11 (stable):
STEP 0: Development and staging upgrade
Please run this procedure under a development and/or staging environment before doing it in production, even if the procedure contains backup instructions, itâs always better when everything runs fine.
STEP 1: Maintenance mode
connect to your website via FTP
create a maintenance.flag file in the root directory of your magento installation
STEP 2: Backup your database
If you don\’t have an SSH access, you can use phpmyadmin to backup your data.
Time: 5min (depends on the size of your database and the ressource of your server)
STEP 3: Backup your folders
Download you magento directory on your side to backup your files
Time: depends on the size of your folder and the ressource of your server it may take a very long time in FTP.
STEP 4: Upgrade
Delete the files under var/cache and var/session
Download magento 18.104.22.168 here
Extract the archive and transfer the files to your magento installation folder
STEP 5: Reindex all
Access the backend and reindex everything under System > Index management
STEP 6: Make it live
Remove the maintenance.flag file you created at the beggining of the process.
(OPTIONAL) STEP 6: Fix your Tax settings
For those who have specific tax calculations, please have a look at the following link, some important changes have been made with 22.214.171.124 (you can find your tax settings in the backend under System > Configuration > Tax)
