I know that at some point in the future grouped configurable products are coming, as Yoav mentioned it here: http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/1481/

It is also on the roadmap, but we don’t know how long it will be before this is implemented. Does anyone have any ideas on a work-around for this in the mean time?
I have a bunch of products where grouping will not work, as there are too many basic options and where being configurable doesn’t work either due to pricing issues - the options not being percentages - however a grouped configurable product would work fine.

Any ideas on changes that could be made to the code to enable this would be very, very welcome!
