hi, i have a windows hosting at http://www.mochahost.com . They have a very nice CP with the option to install Magento 1.3.0.  I have installed magento to my website and i hit on the first issue: magento wasn’t sending any emails at all, and i have resolved this issue in the end with this extension (http://www.magentocommerce.com/extension/1865/aschroder.com-smtp-pro). Now i have a new problem: when i try to put a test order i have some problems with the encryption and i get some errors that the Mcrypt.php file from /lib/varien/crypt has some undefined variables. For eg. this is the first one : $this->setCipher(MCRYPT_BLOWFISH);
My question is that i need to do something , to ask my host provider to install? i have installed Magento many times on linux hosts and it was very easy, but with this windows hosting it seems that the problems never end.Is there any Installation guide for windows hostings? do i need to check some options during the installation? please help me

if any one want to see the error type please go to http://e-fencys.com/magento/ and place a test oreder with the Sony Professional HVR-Z1U 3CCD High Definition Camcorder with 12 item and try to pay with liqpay module.

Well I will not recommend you to install Magento in a Windows server environment. There are quite a few bugs with Magento when running on Windows and they are normally recommended for your local PC development only.

hi, thanks for your advice. I knew that windows hosting will be a pain but when i saw in CP offered by Plesk that i can install Magento from there without uploading it on the server i thought that they have resolved all bugs and it will work fine. now i have to move the hosting from windows to linux and it will take some time. I suggest Magento developers to make a version also for hostings with windows because Magento is great in many aspects and beats from distance all others eCommerce softwares in my opinion.
