Hi everyone,

I would like to know how Magento saves the passwords?? Is it in DB or elsewhere??

My main concern is the admin password as someone seems to hack my customer’s website and changed the password and disabled the shopping cart!!!

He can still login to the server via SSH and cPanel but cannot access the backend.

How can he get his access back as he is loosing lots of sales.

Guys you help is highly appreciated.

Mazen

Hi,

Passwords are stored in admin_user table in the DB.

As hydra said, the passwords are saved in the MySQL database under “admin_user” and they are encrypted by MD5.
