Hello,

When I try to rebuild Catelog Index, Search Index or Flat Catelog Category my browser stuck in loading state forever.. (I waited 2 hrs).
I don’t see httpd or mysql working hard in process.

I had to rebuild index because,
I added product attribute (dropdown/searchable in advanced search). This attribute option is displayed in advanced search form but when I select an option the result is always no items found.. So, I want to rebuild index in the hope that product might show up in search result after rebuild but, magento is giving me hazel one after another.

btw, I have 5 website and 7 store views (7 languages) per website. My products are available for all website/ all view.. I have around 7,000 products in 109 categories.

Thanks,

regards,
itosasia

Hello,

Finally got it solved.

My categories and products were very huge. I had 7,000 products in 5 website with 7 languages each. ie 7,000 X 5 X 7.
So, for magento using more than 1,000 products are recommended to use “Flat Products” and “Flat Categories”. When I tried “Flat Categories” first it never succeed. But when I tried “Flat Products” it was success and it also created flat categories.

Even when I created flat products/categories my attributes were still not being searched in advance search. Now, I did Layered Navigation Refresh. It took too much time but it was success and now my attributes are being searched.

happy ending..

regards,
itosasia

Hello Itosa
I don’t understand what means “Flat Products” and “Flat Categories”;
I have the same problem with 12.000 products;
At startup my website in Italian language was Ok, in English not; now I have problems for both.
Can you help me?
thanks
Max
